Every tonne of wet kelp is a tonne of carbon that was, minutes ago, dissolved in the ocean. Some of it sinks, some of it is eaten, some of it lands in products that keep it out of the air for years.

How we measure

We weigh every bale and sample carbon content per line, per season. The numbers are published in the open data set, not kept in a drawer.
