Late spring, before the blades thin

Kelp is harvested once, at peak length, before the water warms. Wait too long and the blades lose their sugars and start to shred. Go too early and you leave tonnes in the water.

Three passes a season

Different lines mature on different schedules, so the harvest rolls across the lease in passes. Each pass is a race against the warm water behind it.
