Anatomy of a longline
One rope, held between anchors, floating a few metres below the surface. The blades grow straight down off it, like a hanging garden.

Why it works
Everything hangs. There is no structure to rot, no frame to clean. The current flows through the blades, and when the season ends we winch the whole line aboard and start over.
